GEORGE BESTAs for my personal opinion.... George Best tops it all.... this mercurial Northern Ireland international not only had the skill, but also possess a Pop superstar look... At first look, one may mistaken him as a member of the Beatles... infact he was dubbed as the 5th Beatles. For football fans, George Best was and will always remain a legend.. He was one of the first celebrity footballers, winning the European footballer of the year in the 1966-1967 season - the same year The Beatles kickstarted its phenomenal music career.
Best scored 178 goals in 466 apperance for Manchester United in all competition since 1963 t0 1974.
To sum it up, Maradonna Good, Pele better, but George Best..!! Rest in Peace sir...
ROBERTO BAGGIONext on my list is Italy's Roberto Baggio. Dubbed "the divine ponytail", Baggio is among the best technically gifted players in the world in the 1990s. He played and scored 9 goals in 3 world cups (1990, 94 and 98), the first Italian player to achieve such feat.. However with his good looks, he was very popular among female fans including his most famous fan- Madonna (not Maradona!!)
