how many "josef fritzl" out there?

The real Josef Fritzl

At first, we were shocked to hear about an Austrian man who raped his daughter in an underground cellar for 24 years non stop, fathering 7 children.

Fritzl was eventually sentenced to life in prison in a mental institution by an Austrian court.

The British Fritzl / Mr X / The Gaffer

After that, we were shocked once more time when newsreports emerged about another "Fritzl" in the United Kingdom, dubbed Mr X.

Mr X allegedly raped his 2 daughters for 25 years, resulting in a total of 19 pregnancies.

The Italian Fritzl - Michelle Mongelli

After that, there is a similar case in Italy where a 64 year old man, Michelle Mongelli, was accused of locking up his daughter for 25 years and repeatedly raping her.

Now, in Colombia, it looks like there is a brand new "Fritzl".

A farmer, Arcebio Alvare, 58, was arrested on suspicion of raping his own daughter, for over 20years, fathering 8 children.

The Colombian Fritzl Arcebio Alvarez

It is alleged the abuse in the Colombian case started when the now 35-year-old victim's mother died she was five.

Her first pregnancy is said to have occurred when she was nine. She had 14 pregnancies in all, with six ending in miscarriages.

So, are there more "Josef Fritzls" outhere? somewhere? and at this moment still locking and raping their daughters???????

Whatever it is, there are now 4 known "Fritzl" like cases, 3 in Europe and 1 in Latin America.... 4 satanic fathers who raped their own daughters over a combined period of 105 years, resulting in the birth of more than 30 children....

Should this method of death sentence, be "introduced" to hardcore criminals???

The name is "Garrote"...

A Garrote is a handheld weapon, most often referring to a ligature of chain, rope, scarf, wire, nunchaku, or fishing line used to strangle someone, causing silent death. The term especially refers to an execution device.

But it is sometimes used in assassination, because it can be completely silent.

A 1901 'garrote' execution at the old Bilibid Prison, Manila, Philippines

From the torture museum of Freiburg im Breisgau.

The video below shows the effect of 'garrote"., from the cult movie - The Godfather.

Here, Luca Brasi was killed by a rival Mafia family using the "garrote" method. But his assailants made sure that the big size Brasi cannot fight back by stabbing his left hand.

Note : Luca Brasi was the Godfather's most feared henchman, but in this scene, even the tough Luca Brasi was no match to the "Garrote"...

A very very sad case indeed!!!!!

As reported by The Star today.

This very sad case happened in Miri, northern Sarawak.

Baby boy starves to death; drunk parents forgot to feed him

MIRI: A baby boy, less then a month old, starved to death Thursday after his parents allegedly forgot to feed him because they were too drunk.

The baby died in the intensive care unit of Miri Hospital Thursday morning and a police report was lodged.

Police now want to question the parents, in their early 30s, from a longhouse in southern Sarawak who came to Miri to work and were now renting a house at a low-cost housing scheme along the Sarawak-Brunei highway some 12kms north of the city centre.

Concerned relatives had found the baby unconscious in the house and had rushed him to the hospital at about 3am on Wednesday.

Miri Deputy Police Chief Supt Ismail Paduka Idris confirmed Thursday that the baby had died in the morning.

"We (police) are investigating claims that the parents had indulged in a prolonged drinking spree and had neglected the baby in the process.

"Initial probe showed that the baby might have been so severely neglected that he suffered fatal consequences. We want to find out whether this was due to carelessness or criminal neglect.

"We will be taking statements from the parents and from neighbours and relatives to find out what actually happened," he said, adding that police have yet to detain the parents.

Asked if there were any signs of physical abuse on the baby, he said police are still investigating all aspects.

The couple have another child, a three-year daughter.

one of the contenders for worst son in the world??

His name is Rory McIness and he is 18 years old. He lives with his parents and 3 siblings.

And this is what he did. But his parents only realize his doings after 12 months!!!!

Could he be the contender for worst son in the world???

Is he the new version of Denis the Menace?

Well Rory's parents Andy and Clare were delighted when builders finished a new flat roof on their £1 million house.

But Rory, who had just watched a documentary about Google Earth — which lets internet users view satellite pictures, had a different idea.

He decided to make the property stand out.

Rory grabbed a tin of white paint and climbed up to the roof and spent half an hour reproducing the best-known feature of the Cerne Abbas Giant in Dorset.

For the next 12 months, it was Rory's secret for he was the only one who knew about the giant manhood on the roof near Hungerford, Berks.

But his secret was blown when a helicopter pilot spotted it, and hovered so his passenger could take photos.

Company director Andy, 54, thought it was a wind-up when The Sun contacted him about the painting.

He said: “It’s an April Fool’s joke, right? There’s no way there’s a 60ft phallus on top of my house.”

Andy then spoke to all 4 of his kids demanding answers.

When he phoned Rory — in Brazil as part of his gap year travels — the lad burst out laughing, saying: “Oh, you’ve found it then!”

The Cerne Abbas Giant is regarded as a massive fertility symbol, and couples often have sex on his appendage in the hope of conceiving.

Rory’s mum Clare, 49, said: “We don’t want any more children, so the idea of sleeping under a giant fertility symbol is rather worrying.”

Andy added: “We don’t want to lie in bed at night and hear couples at it above us.

“When Rory gets home he will be given a scrubbing brush and white spirit and he can go and scrub it off.”

Anything happens in the world today.......

US Supreme Court to hear 13 year old strip search case

Savana Redding still remembers the day when her school officials in Safford, Arizona forced her to strip six years ago. She was 13 then and in eighth grade.

On that day, she was wearing black stretch pants with butterfly patches and a pink T-shirt — when she was forced to strip on suspicion of bringing unauthorized pills to school.

The search by two female school employees was methodical and humiliating, Redding said. After she had stripped to her underwear, “they asked me to pull out my bra and move it from side to side,” she said. “They made me open my legs and pull out my underwear.”

Ms. Redding, an honors student, had no pills. But she had a furious mother and a lawyer, and now her case has reached the Supreme Court, which will hear arguments on April 21.

The case will require the justices to consider the thorny question of just how much leeway school officials should have in policing zero-tolerance policies for drugs and violence, and the court is likely to provide important guidance to schools around the nation.

In Ms. Redding’s case, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in San Francisco, ruled that school officials had violated the Fourth Amendment’s ban on unreasonable searches.

Writing for the majority, Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw said, “It does not require a constitutional scholar to conclude that a nude search of a 13-year-old child is an invasion of constitutional rights.”

“More than that,” Judge Wardlaw added, “it is a violation of any known principle of human dignity.”

Ramalan pemilihan Majlis Tertinggi UMNO 2008

Ramalan keputusan pemilihan Perhimpunan Agung UMNO 2008

Ramalan ini dibuat berdasarkan tren semasa, perkembangan terkini dan telahan saya sendiri dan ia tidak semestinya tepat.

Presiden : YAB Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak (menang tanpa bertanding)

Timbalan Presiden : YB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin

- peluang beliau lebih cerah berbanding Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib. Namun senarionya mungkin berbeza jika Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam tidak dilarang bertanding oleh Lembaga Disiplin Parti.

Naib Presiden :

1. Datuk Hishamuddin Tun Hussein
2. Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi
3. Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim

Ketua Pemuda : Khairy Jamaluddin

Ketua Wanita – Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil

- Wanita UMNO memerlukan pemimpin baru.

1. Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman
2. Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob
3. Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad
4. Datuk Mustafa Mohamed
5. Datuk Seri Utama Mohammad Hassan
6. Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed
7. Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor
8. Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman
9. Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim
10. Datuk Seri Mahadzir Khalid
11. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said
12. Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob
13. Datuk Noraini Ahmad
14. Datuk Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah
15. Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh
16. Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin
17. Datuk Zulhasnan Rafique
18. Senator Datuk Azian Osman
19. Senator Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad
20. Datuk Hassan Malek

War injury photos you are not allowed to see....

Source - the observer...

A gruesome and fascinating collection of army photographs is to be made available online, thanks to an American archivist.

The images date back to the American Civil War and cover the World Wars and the Vietnam War.

Until now hidden in the depths of the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Washington, D.C., the photos are being digitized and published on Flickr by the museum's head archivist, Mike Rove.

Not without problems, however: Rove and his colleaugues have been banned from uploading to Flickr by the army, and so have to do the work from home.

Call not to appoint Najib as Prime Minister is illogical, said Tun Mahathir

(Source - Daily Express)

Kuala Lumpur: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said it is illogical to call on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong not to appoint Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as the Prime Minister.

Commenting on the call by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, urging the Yang di-Pertuan Agong not to appoint Najib as the Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir said, "He can say what he likes but he is just one person.

"Whether the Yang di-Pertuan Agong will listen to the opinion of one person will be up to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong," he said at a news conference, Thursday. Zaid, the former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, claimed that Najib's appointment would divide the people.

Dr Mahathir said: "The person who made this suggestion is not someone who is regarded highly or someone who is rational. If I were the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, I wouldn't even want to read about this. It's too stupid.

Who does he want to be?"

Asked whether he would fully support Najib's appointment as the PM, Dr Mahathir said, "I will give a full backing to Najib on condition that he must not appoint any of the corrupt leaders to his Cabinet."

He also commented on perception that Najib was corrupt.

"I'm not talking about what people believe. A lot of people believe about something but there is no legal stand taken on whether Najib is corrupt or not."

Asked on his choice for the Umno Deputy President's post, Dr Mahathir said, it would be Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the International Trade and Industry Minister. "I think what is left is somebody who is... well, could not read English and therefore he did something wrong in Australia. So my choice is Muhyiddin," he said.

The contest for the deputy presidency is now between Muhyiddin and Tan Sri Muhammad Muhd Taib.

A third candidate, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam was barred from contesting after the party's disciplinary board found him guilty of breaching party ethics. Dr Mahathir also commented on the statement by Mohd Ali that he (Dr Mahathir) had a hand in the recent decision taken by the disciplinary board.

Dr Mahathir said: "I wish I had but I'm not a member of Umno. If I had been involved, I would have thrown him out from the very beginning but I'm not involved. I have to very reluctantly wait for the Decision by the Board and I'm not completely happy with it."

He said that Mohd Ali should be treated the same way former Umno Vice-President Tan Sri Mohamed Isa Abdul Samad was treated in 2005.

"Isa was thrown out because he was involved in money politics but he also lost his position as a Minister. But here, we have a very strange decision.

He was found to be corrupt but he can remain as the Chief Minister (of Melaka). Now we have a person who is confirmed corrupt but the party accepted him as the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile Muhyiddin described as "irresponsible and malicious" the statement by Zaid on the country's leadership transition.

He said the statement was clearly aimed at creating unease among Umno members in particular and Malaysians in general.

Muhyiddin said Zaid's statement was not helpful in uniting the people. It also showed his opportunistic character, said Muhyiddin.

"I strongly deny Zaid's claim that the country is in crisis over the appointment of the Prime Minister. The Umno leadership transition is progressing well and it has been proven that Najib has the confidence of Umno divisions to be the new party president," he said in a statement.

Muhyiddin also said it was clearly stated in Article 43(2) of the Federal Constitution that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall first appoint a member of the Dewan Rakyat, who is likely to command the confidence of the majority of the House, as the Prime Minister to preside over the Cabinet.

"The Barisan Nasional (BN) is the party that commands the majority in the Dewan Rakyat, with Umno having the most seats among the BN component parties," he said. Muhyiddin said Najib's appointment as the Prime Minister would unite the people.

"In this connection, I would like to remind the people and Umno members not to fall for Zaid's propaganda which is clearly ill-intent, irresponsible and putting self interest above that of the country," he said.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal described Zaid's statement as devoid of logic as it had been the practice to appoint Umno President as the Prime Minister.

He said the power transfer between Abdullah and Najib was progressing smoothly. Mohd Shafie who is Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister said what was important was for the Government to remain focus on the efforts to bring development to the people.

Motion of Confidence???

The former Umno President also spoke on the possibility of a "motion of confidence" be tabled in Parliament to have Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi remain as Prime Minister.

"It's a possibility; it's not against the law. The law provides that to be the Prime Minister, you must have the support of the majority in Parliament but it does not say from which party.

"According to the constitution, the person who shall be made the Prime Minister is a person who has the majority support in Parliament. If you appoint somebody who has no majority support, he will be out," he said.

Dr Mahathir said there was nothing in the Federal Constitution which stated that the Umno President must be the Prime Minister.

"There is no provision. That is only our arrangement," he said, adding that legally, the current PM Datuk Seri Abdullah could continue serving his term until the next general election if he wanted to.

"But of course he may face a vote of no confidence in Parliament... he has a good chance of winning with the support of opposition members but he will become the Prime Minister of the opposition," he said.

Dr Mahathir said opposition members also had votes in Parliament and if they, together with some members of the Barisan Nasional, were to vote for Abdullah, "then he will be the PM."

A Beauty Queen who can really sing....

It is not often to find a lady who is a Beauty Queen as well as a very good singer...

Well Joanne Sue Henley Rampas fits both criteria.

She was crowned Sabah Beauty Queen or Unduk Ngadau during the annual Pesta Kaamatan or Harvest Festival in 2007.

Apart from her good looks, Joanne is also very talented in songs writing and performing them on stage...

Here is a video of her singing "Koupusan" a popular Kadazan-Dusun song..

She composed this song in 2004 when she was only 15...

Fritzl, the worst rapist in the world is sentenced to life in mental hospital

Josef Fritzl, is no doubt the worst rapist in the history of Austria, Europe and the world...

Fritzl locked his poor daughter for 24 years in an underground cellar and raped her more than 3,000 times........

Today, the telegraph UK reported that Josef Fritzl, 73 will spend the rest of his life in a top-security psychiatric hospital for murdering a baby boy he fathered during the 24 years he kept his daughter Elisabeth locked up in a cellar.

The murder charge related to Michael Fritzl, one of seven children Fritzl fathered by his daughter Elisabeth as he raped her more than 3,000 times.

The boy, one of twins, died in April 1996, just 66 hours after he was born. He developed breathing difficulties but Fritzl refused to seek medical help, making him guilty of "homicide by neglect".

Fritzl, 73, was jailed for life after a jury in St Poelten, Austria, unanimously found him guilty of murder at the end of a four-day trial at which he had already admitted incest, rape, false imprisonment and coercion.

The jury also convicted Fritzl of slavery – making him the first man to be convicted of the offence in Austria.

He had changed his not guilty plea to the murder and slavery charges on Wednesday, having previously denied them, but the local judicial system dictated that the jury still had to return a formal verdict.

Earlier, Fritzl had apologised "from the bottom of my heart" for the horrific torture he meted out to Elisabeth.

He claimed he wished he could "make amends" for his appalling crimes.

His lawyer, Rudolf Mayer, told the court that Fritzl's earlier decision to change his plea to guilty had come after he saw Elisabeth in court on Tuesday.

The Top 10 Craziest Sex Laws in America

Laws are supposed to protects us, but when the government decides to get in our pants, some crazy stuff goes down!

Here are some actual sex laws truly for the record books!

1. In Bakersfield, California, if you're going to have sex with Satan, you've gotta use a condom. And definitely come up with a safe word!

2. Poking a porcupine is illegal in Florida. But apparently that law didn't go far enough. Just a couple of weeks ago, State Senator Nan Rich submitted a bill that would ban peeps in the Sunshine State from being able to stick it in where the sun don't shine on any animal.

3. In Minnesota, it's illegal for any slime bucket to hook up with a live fish. Don't worry disinterested wives, a cold fish is still A-OK!

4. In Dyersburg, Tennessee, it is illegal for a lady to call a gentleman for a date. Clearly no one in that town is getting laid!

5. In Merryville, Montana, no woman can waste her natural waist. Wearing a corset is illegal because "the privilege of admiring the curvaceous, unencumbered body of a young woman should not be denied to the normal, red-blooded American male." No wonder it's called the "Show Me State!"

6. It's illegal to purchase sex toys in Alabama. This law can beat it!

7. In Washington state, it's totally legal to eff an animal like an animal, as long as it weighs less than 40 lbs. What, fatty farm pets don't deserve some love?

8. While most would argue that this is place where the people get screwed many different ways, in Washington, D.C., engaging in any sexual position other than missionary is illegal.

9. In Massachusetts, you cannot recklessly consummate your love with a rodeo clown while the horses are still around. But seriously, there's a reason for the expression "hung like a horse." I doubt the animal would get jealous!

10. The biggest Internet-porn-consuming state, Utah, gets freaky in its laws too. Sex with an animal is totally cool, unless you're doing it for cold, hard cash! Hey, why buy the cow when you can have the milk for free!

Nice read hah... hahaha

Life and career cut short - Natasha Richardson

Natasha Richardson plays a once-elegant Russian in 1930s Shanghai who wins the heart of a blind man (Ralph Fiennes) in the 2005 drama "The White Countess."

The gifted actress died last night due to complications from a skiing accident. She was only a couple of months away from her 46th birthday.

Richardson had spent her life immersed in the acting world: She was the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson -- she made her film debut in her father's "The Charge of the Light Brigade" while still a pre-schooler -- and she had been married to Liam Neeson (whom she met when they co-starred in the Broadway revival of "Anna Christie") for the past 15 years.

Her movies include - "Patty Hearst" (1988), "The Handmaid's Tale" (1990), "The Comfort of Strangers" (1991, "Nell" (1994, Blow Dry" (2001) and "The White Countess" (2005)...

What a sad day for her family and Hollywood...

Kanye West charged again......

Well, the works of Paparazis are to follow and capture on cameras, celebrities every move.... imagine you are being followed and photographed everyday, anywhere, while out shopping, strolling, kissing, watching movies, going to pubs etc... you definitely get upset and mad.... and that what happened to US Rapper, Kanye West.

source -

Los Angeles city prosecutors have charged the rapper with misdemeanor battery, grand theft and vandalism over the videotaped destruction of a paparazzo's camera.

West was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport days after performing at the MTV Video Music Awards in September. The celebrity gossip site TMZ shot video that showed West breaking the flash of a photographer's camera inside a terminal, and his manager breaking the camera itself and accosting TMZ's videographer.

West faces 2 1/2 years in jail if convicted.

West's lawyer, Blair Berk, declined to comment on the charges being filed.

West's road manager, Dan Crawley, also faces six misdemeanor charges: two counts apiece of battery, vandalism and grand theft. He faces up to five years in jail if convicted.

The charges were filed by the office of outgoing City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, whose office last year also pursued a misdemeanor against Britney Spears over her driver's license. A jury deadlocked in favor of acquitting Spears and the case was dropped.

Delgadillo's office received the case after county prosecutors declined to charge West and Crawley.

West is just one of a number of celebrities who have had run-ins with aggressive paparazzi. Photographers are suing soccer star David Beckham and actor Woody Harrelson over separate scuffles. And two men face felony charges after a fight between photographers and surfers in Malibu; in that incident, the paparazzi were trying to snap images of actor Matthew McConaughey .

West has been known for his brash attitude, but the Sept. 11 incident at LAX was the first instance his temper seemed to turn physical.

He appeared last week on "American Idol," performing his song "Heartless" from his most recent album, "808s & Heartbreak," which also features the song "Love Lockdown."

The winner of multiple Grammys since he rocketed to stardom with his album "The College Dropout," West has become well-known for his temper tantrums, skewering MTV and former President George W. Bush while the cameras rolled.

Where is Susanna Hoffs now??? well she is eternal flame...

Susanna Hoffs joined the sisters Vicki Peterson and Debbi Peterson to form a band called The Bangles, in Los Angeles in December, 1980.

The Bangles 1988's album - "Everything" was another multi-platinum smash and featureed their biggest-selling single, the soft ballad "Eternal Flame".

Co-writer Billy Steinberg came up with the title after Susanna Hoffs told him about the band's visit to Graceland, Elvis Presley's former estate in Memphis, Tennessee.

An "Eternal Flame" in memoriam to Presley is maintained on the site, but on the day the band visited, the flame had gone out and its clear-plastic enclosure was flooded. When they asked what was in the box, they were told, "That's the eternal flame."

The single became a worldwide hit.

However Susanna Hoffs working relationships within the band had broken down and they split shortly after.

Hoffs embarked on a solo career, releasing 2 albums.

Vicki Peterson toured as a member of the Go-Go's and the Continental Drifters.

In February 2009, Susanna Hoffs, now 50 years old, appeared on stage at the Key Club in Los Angeles, singing with thenewno2, the "post-Bristol" psychedelic blues band lead by Dhani Harrison. This show can be seen on

Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming?
Is this burning an eternal flame?

I believe it's meant to be, darling
I watch when you are sleeping, you belong to me
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame?

Say my name, sun shines through the rain
A whole life so lonely, and then you come and ease the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling

Say my name, sun shines through the rain
A whole life so lonely, and then you come and ease the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling

Close your eyes and give me your hand
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame?

Is this burning an eternal flame?

An eternal flame?

(Close your eyes and give me your hand
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame?)

Limbang issue - who is right?

Pictures of Limbang, a border town, north of Sarawak, sandwiced between 2 areas of Brunei - Brunei proper and Temburong.

On Monday, The Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Sultan of Brunei, inked a historic exchange of letters at the Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan, to formally resolve the long standing land and maritime borders issues between Sarawak and Brunei.

However, the next day, that statement was denied by Brunei 2nd Minister of foreign affairs and trade, Datuk Seri Lim Jock Seng.

So, i am confused here as to who is right and who is not right here???

This is the newsreport on that signing of exchange of letters on Monday by the star online.

Brunei drops claim over Limbang in Sarawak (Update3)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN:In a historic move, Brunei has officially dropped its long-standing claim over Sarawak’s Limbang district, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said on Monday.

This was the result of the two countries resolving their various land and sea territorial disputes, he said.

"Brunei has decided to drop the Limbang issue and as a result, Limbang is part of Malaysian territory," he told a press conference with the Malaysian media at the Malaysian High Commission here.

"With this resolution, there are no more issues to haunt the close relationship between Brunei and Malaysia," he said.

The resolution was part of several disputes which were settled and sealed with the signing of Letters of Exchange by Abdullah and the Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hasannal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman here on Monday.

The other disputes include questions over where the common maritime boundary of the two countries in the South China Sea should run, the rights to exploit potentially rich oil deposits in the disputed maritime territory, the right of movement by Malaysian vessels over Brunei waters and the demarcation of the common boundary of the two countries.

The dispute over Limbang can be traced back to the cession of the territory by Brunei to Sarawak's White Rajahs in 1890. The cession has been strongly disputed by the Sultanate which regarded the transfer as annexation by Sarawak.

The cession of Limbang resulted in a significant reduction of Bruneian territory and cut the sultanate into two parts.

On Monday, Abdullah thanked the Sultan for the resolution of the various disputes and especially that of Limbang.

He said bilateral relations between the two countries would now enter a new era.

On the points in the Letters of Exchange, Abdullah and the Sultan in a joint statement said they had reached agreement over the final maritime boundaries between the two countries in the South China Sea.

They also agreed to establish a "commercial arrangement area" where oil and gas revenue in the disputed area would be shared between the two countries. How much each country would get was however not disclosed.

The two countries also agreed to the existence of "unsuspendable rights of maritime access" which guaranteed the right of movement by Malaysia vessels through Bruneian territorial waters provided Brunei's laws and regulations are observed.

Lastly, the Letters of Exchange also established the methods to demarcate the land boundary between Brunei and Malaysia.

With the resolution of the maritime boundary delimitation issue, the leaders said the two countries would be able to embark on new developments in their respective areas.

The negotiations, which began in 1995, took 39 rounds of talks to reach resolution.

The dispute over maritime territory arose out of a 1979 map published by Malaysia which indicated that all deep sea territorial waters off the coast of Brunei belonged to Malaysia.

The latest incident related to the dispute over maritime territory occurred in 2003 when Malaysia and Brunei awarded petroleum production-sharing contracts to four exploration blocks in the disputed area, close to where a 440 million-barrel discovery had been made the year before.

Petronas awarded its two blocks to US oild firm Murphy Oil while Brunei awarded one of its blocks to France's Total, BHP Billiton and Hess Corp and the othr to Shell, Mitsubishi and Conoco-Phillips.

Following the dispute, both countries agreed to stop drilling activities in the area.

Earlier, before the signing ceremony, Abdullah had a four-eyed meeting with the Sultan at the Palace.

Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said the resolution of the question over the ownership of Limbang would enable several projects in the Sarawak district, which could benefit Brunei to proceed.

He said one of them was the construction of a hydroelectric dam across the Sungai Limbang where electricity could be supplied to Brunei.

”This will bring Sarawak and Brunei closer together as we can supply electricity to Brunei,” he told a press conference at the Malaysia High Commission.

On whether the resolution of the Limbang question would bring about easier access between that district and the rest of Sarawak, Taib said the problem was more to do with finding a convenient practice for immigration and customs checks.

He said the two countries had already agreed to using indentity cards instead of passports and further fine-tuning of the procedures could enable easier passage of people passing through checkpoints on the Brunei-Malaysia border.

Limbang’s road network is cut off from the rest of Sarawak and those travelling to the district have to pass through two border checkpoints.

Brunei: Limbang claim not discussed

MIRI: Brunei's Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Datuk Seri Lim Jock Seng has denied that claims on Limbang were discussed during the meeting between Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Speaking at the Brunei legislative council meeting on Tuesday, he said the discussion that led to the signing of the Letters of Exchange (LoE) in Bandar Seri Begawan on Monday was on the demarcation of land boundaries on the whole.

"Certain press reports yesterday (Monday) claimed that Brunei has dropped claims over Limbang. In fact, the claim on Limbang was never discussed," he was reported as saying by Brunei's local daily, Borneo Bulletin, Wednesday.

He said a joint press statement was issued after the meeting which mentioned that the demarcation of the land boundaries between the two countries would be resolved on the basis of five existing historical agreements between the Government of Brunei and the State of Sarawak, and, as appropriate, the watershed principle.

"After that, a working group comprising general surveyors of the two countries will follow with the technical aspect to solve the land border issue," Lim added. Abdullah, at a news conference with Malaysian journalists after the signing of the LoE on Monday, said that Brunei had officially dropped its longstanding territorial claim over Limbang, Sarawak's northernmost division.

He said the matter was part of the historic LoE inked between him and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan.

"It has been stated in the LoE that Brunei has dropped the issue and this means that Limbang is part of Malaysia," he was quoted as saying.

Limbang, located on the banks of Sungai Limbang between the two halves of Brunei and covering an area of 3,978 sq km with a population of more than 40,000, was annexed by James Brooke, the first Rajah of Sarawak, in 1890 as the fifth division of Sarawak. - Bernama

And this is an explanation by the Foreign Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, today Thursday 19 March 2009.

Limbang, other border issues to be resolved: Rais

KUALA LUMPUR: Various border issues including Limbang will be resolved once re-demarcation works are completed, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

He said although the word “Limbang” was not mentioned during discussion at the Letters of Exchange ceremony between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, on Monday, the district issue will be regarded as resolved after the physical works are carried out.

(Disputes on land borders will be resolved) once the physical works of re-demarcation are completed in accordance with the principles of the five agreements,” he told reporters at a press conference in the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations here Thursday.

Two out of the five agreements, signed between 1920 and 1939, directly mentioned the Limbang district in the documents.

Dr Rais was responding to articles in the Brunei press that questioned the status of Limbang.

The reports quoted Brunei’s Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Datuk Seri Lim Jock Seng as denying that Limbang was discussed during the meeting between the Sultan and Abdullah.

“I hope this issue won’t be politicised despite their local media raising issues,” he said.

He added that both parties would have to wait between 12 and 18 months for the re-dermarcation works to be completed by the technical committee.

The heaviest singer in the world????

His name - Neal E. Boyd (rearrange the words and it becomes Neal E. Body)

His Body weight - approx 400 pounds... (based on my visual observation on Neal's bigtime size compared to Jerry Springer's average 170 pounds plus weight..)

His idol - Placido Domingo!!!!!

His accomplishment - winner of the 2008 edition of America's Got Talent - prize - a cool USD 1 million and a showbiz contract in Las Vegas.

His job - insurance salesman turned Opera Singer... (no wonder he sang opera during the earlier rounds, the semifinal and final)

He won by less than half of one percent over 26-year-old Eli Mattson, a pianist and singer whose bluesy-country style earned him many fans.

Compare Neal's body size with that of Mark Henry - a 400 pounds professional wrestler...

Can Neal sing?? yes he can...

Can Mark Henry sing?? I doubt it..

Can i sing ? well, i sing better than Neal, of course!!!!!

Slumdog success has opened door like never before for Bollywood movies

(Source - Indian Times)

"Slumdog Millionaire" co-director Loveleen Tandon thinks the 10 Oscar nominations that the film earned today will open the doors for Indian talents at the global level.

"It is incredible for us, for our great Indian actors, for our technicians and for everyone related to the film. It is like a dream come true and a collective time of happiness for us," said Tandon, who also assisted Boyle in the casting of the film.

"It has really opened new doors for us and I am happy that 'Slumdog...' became the vehicle for it. It is high time that the West woke up to Indian talent," said Tandon.

It was at Tandon's insistence that director Danny Boyle included Hindi dialogues in the film.

"One third of the film is in Hindi and I thank Loveleen for that because it has made it more real," Boyle had said.

Tandon, who has previously assisted Mira Nair in "Monsoon Wedding" and "Vanity Fair" said it was a record for any Indian winning three nominations at the Oscars.

"(A R )Rahman has made us so proud. I am so happy to see our genius up there and I am 100 per cent sure that he is going to win," she hoped.

25 minutes too late!!!!!!

Kurup - he sleeps well now....

(source the star online)

Morale of the story - next time you want to contest in an election - wake up early and be at the nomination centre early...!!!!!

The highly anticipated Pensiangan by-election in Sabah, Malaysia, will not materialise.

So we wait and see for the 3 simultaneous by-elections in Bukit Selambau, Kedah, Bukit Gantang, Perak and Batang Ai, Sarawak.

The judges ruled out that it was the petitioner fault in submitting his nomination paper, 25 minutes late than the stipulated time of between 9 am to 10 am.

The petitioner - Danny Andipai of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, submitted his nomination paper at 10.25 am (25 minutes late).... so i guess he really hates this song by Michael Learns to Rock.

Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup retained his Pensiangan seat he won unchallenged in the March 2008 with the Federal Court ruling in his favour to quash the September last year, Election Court ruling to declare it null and void.

The three-men bench of the Federal Court ruled that the Election Court judge Justice David Wong Dak Wah had erred in his ruling.

It was clear that under the election laws, it was candidate’s responsibility to submit their nomination papers on time between the stipulated period of 9am and 10am.

Friday’s sitting was presided by Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Alauddin Mohd Sheriff, High Court of Malaya Chief Judge Datuk Arifin Zakaria and Federal Court judge Datuk Nik Hashim Nik Abdul Rahman.

The Federal Court also said that the returning officer Bubudan O.T. Majalu was justified in upholding the objection against the nomination papers of Parti Keadilan Rakyat candidate Danny Andipai.

”I am very happy and relieved. Now I can focus on doing my work as a deputy minister,” said Kurup, who is Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister.

Kurup had appealed against the decision of the Election Court to declare his unopposed victory in the Pensiangan parliamentary seat was null and void.

On Sept 8 last year, High Court judge Justice David Wong Dak Wah, who was sitting as an Election Court judge, quashed the outcome of the Pensiangan seat that was won uncontested by Barisan Nasional’s Kurup.

Justice Wong held that returning officer Bubudan OT Majalu had erred in overturning an Election Commission directive that PKR candidate Danny Andipai’s nomination papers be accepted though they were filed after the 10am deadline.

The judge had also ruled that the objections against Andipai’s nomination forms — on the grounds that they were not signed and that improper forms were used — were invalid.

A good night sleep indeed for Kurup tonight........

Bloggers beware - 6 Malaysians charged in court over web posting, insulting the Sultan of Perak

Beware what you post on the internet / blogs....

Source : The Star online

KUALA LUMPUR: In the first conviction of its kind, lab assistant Azrin Md Zain, 33, was fined RM10,000 or, in default, five months jail, at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for posting comments insulting the Sultan of Perak on the Internet on Feb 12.

He became the first ever person to be convicted under the Multimedia and Communications Act 1998 and was among the six charged Friday in courts nationwide for similar offences.

Azrin admitted to have sent his comments to the guests book at which has linked to the Sultan’s official website with intention to annoy other person.

The father of one has committed the offence using his personal Internet protocol account at his house in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here at 9.12pm on Feb 12.

According to the facts of the case, information technology officer Noorhaliza Masri, from Perak secretariat office, lodged a complaint at Multimedia Communications Commission on Feb 16 upon detecting the posting which insulted the Sultan.

The Telekom Malaysia had confirmed that Azrin had used TM Net Streamyx on that day.

The commission had obtained a search warrant from Kajang magistrate’s court on Feb 19 to check at his house and seized a laptop, a modem and a telephone bill dated Dec 28 last year registered under his name.

On Friday, Azrin told Sessions Court judge Rozana Ali Yusoff that it was his own mistake for committing the offence.

“I was not in the right state of mind. I was in the midst of doing online forex trading to New York. My profits were negative. So I just clicked to the website. I posted the comments without thinking.

“I will not touch the website anymore because the Malaysians are actually sensitive,” he promised.

The diploma holder repeatedly expressed his regrets to the judge.

In mitigating further, Azrin said he was not a member of any political party.

“I have also clicked on a website which praised Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak,” said Azrin who stood near the witness stand and promised to be a law abiding citizen if he got a lenient sentence.

DPP Nahra Dolah however pressed for deterrent sentence saying that the case involved public interest and the court had to send a strong message to Internet users about the gravity of the offence.

At the same court, self-employed Muslim Ahmad, 54, claimed trial to three counts of posting offensive remarks against the Sultan in February.

In the Butterworth Sessions Court, Penang, Chan Hon Keong, 27, pleaded not guilty while Khoo Hui Shuang was absent and was summoned for mention of the case on April 15.

The two were accused of posting and distributing comments containing obscenities and offensive comments on a website linked to the Sultan of Perak’s website.

At the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court, land surveyor Nor Hisham Osman, 36, claimed trial to defaming the Sultan of Perak.

Judge Balqis Ainin Mohd fixed bail at RM4,000 with one surety and fixed next hearing on Apr 14.

Meanwhile, in Kota Kinabalu, Bernama reported that a mobile phone salesman pleaded not guilty to spreading a comment which insulted the Sultan of Perak through a website.

Rutinin Suhaimin, 36, was charged with committing the offence on Feb 13 and linking the offensive remarks to the website with link to a website on the Sultan Perak,

If found guilty, Rutinin can be jailed for up to a year or fined up to RM50,000, or both.

Sessions Court judge Ummu Kalthom Abdul Samad fixed May 25 and 26 for trial and allowed bail of RM10,000 with a deposit RM5,000 and two sureties.

Metallica cancels Sweden concert because James Hetfield rides the lightning and fades to black with his puppets!!!

It was pure frustration for Metallica fans in Sweden.....

Metallica, arguably one of the biggest heavy metal band in the world had a less than Swede reception over the weekend.

The hard rockers were forced to cancel the second of two planned Stockholm gigs last night after frontman James Hetfield was admitted to a Swedish hospital.

Hetfield's illness, which the band's spokeswoman blamed on dehydration resulting from a stomach bug, took hold right before the start of the concert, and the rest of the band took to the stage only to inform the roughly 16,000 fans that the show was nixed.

"As you can see, one of us is missing tonight," drummer Lars Ulrich said, adding that they were "truly, truly, truly sorry" for the last-minute cancellation. "Trust me, none of you guys wanna hear me, Rob [Trujillo] or Kirk [Hammett] sing."

The group backed up the announcement with a posting on their official website Sunday.

"Tonight's second show in Stockholm has been cancelled due to James falling ill and receiving medical attention at the hospital," the message read. "The show WILL be rescheduled sometime this spring...We apologize to all our fans who have traveled from near and far and we look forward to coming back soon."

Hetfield was released from the hospital later last night and has since returned to the U.S.

Metallica, founded in Los Angeles, USA in 1981, has sold more than 100 million records to date....

Sheer Luck or a Miracle???

If your voice turns hoarse, don't worry - you will sell millions of albums!!!

In 1977, Welsh singer, Bonnie Tyler thought her world had ended.

She was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal cords that were so severe that surgery was mandatory. However, Tyler began speaking again prior to her doctor's orders, causing her voice to take on a raspy quality.

At first this made her believe that her singing career was over, but to her surprise, her next single made her an international star. "It's a Heartache" made #3 on the US chart and had become a hit worldwide; it topped the charts in several countries including France and Australia and peaked at #2 in Germany and at #4 in the UK....

God knows better what is best for us.......

Totally unexpected guest!!!!!!

This is what we call "Rude Awakening".....!!!!

A man in Canberra, Australia suffered scratched buttocks and shredded underpants wrestling with a kangaroo after it smashed through his bedroom window, BBC reports.

Beat Ettlin, his wife and daughter cowered beneath their blankets as it jumped on their bed.

But it then bounded into the room of the Ettlins' young son, who screamed, and Mr Ettlin was forced to act.

Mr Ettlin struggled to get the hopping marsupial into a headlock and drag it to the front door.

Shoved outside, wounded, it disappeared into a nearby reserve outside Canberra.

Inside, the animal - which Mr Ettlin said was about his own height, 5 ft 9 in (175cm) - had gouged holes in the furniture and smeared blood over the walls as it bounced around the house.

"I just kept holding the covers over my head and felt the kangaroo jumping on top of us," recalled Mr Ettlin's wife, Verity Beman.

She described her husband as "a hero: a hero in Bonds undies" - referring to a brand of underwear popular in Australia.

Mr Ettlin, who is 42 and originally from Switzerland, described himself as a lucky man.

"My initial thought when I was half awake was, 'it's a lunatic ninja coming through the window'," he said.

Kangaroos are common around the outskirts of Canberra, but only rarely invade homes, experts say.

video of nadya suleman giving birth to octuplets

Well, how many of us have seen the famous but rare and exclusive video of Nadya Suleman, giving birth to 8 babies or octuplets on January 26, 2009.

Suleman sparked public controversy after the births when it was discovered that she already had six other young children at home at the time.

Suleman, who was unmarried, unemployed and on public assistance programs, conceived the octuplets and her six older children via in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with the participation of a male friend who provided donor sperm and is the biological father.

Suleman, dubbed Octo-mom by the media, becomes just the second person recorded in the US to have delivered a set of living octuplets.

The 6 boys and 2 girls, who were 9 weeks premature, were delivered by Caesarean section in the hospital near Los Angeles, California.

The babies weighed in at between 1lb 8 ounces (820g) and 3lb 4oz (1.47kg) and are all said to be doing well.

They were screaming and kicking around very vigorously, a doctor said.

This is the exclusive recording of the historic event... don't laugh....

Physical Virginity Tests in Africa!!!!!!

To all Ladies out there - anyone of you dare to take this tests ??????????

Thousands of girls in South Africa are queuing up each month to prove that they are virgins, reviving an African tradition seen by many as the answer to the scourge of AIDS.

Bare-breasted teenagers wearing nothing but strings of beads and colourful loincloths regularly submit to the ordeal of having a stranger check if their hymens are intact, leaping for joy when the test confirms that they are still virgins.

(After the tests are done - these girls who passed are given certificates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Advocates say the revival of the rite, which had died out in all but a few rural areas late in the 20th century, is the most effective way to stop the spread of teenage pregnancies and the deadly HIV virus, believed to affect one in 10 South Africans.

Opponents argue that the practice is unconstitutional, unhygienic and violates the human rights of those being tested.

“Those who are behind the comeback...say that if we test young girls to see if they are virgins they will be fearful and will not engage in sexual activity,” said Phumelele Ntombela-Nzinande, former deputy head of the Commission for Gender Equality.

“We are arguing that this practice undermines the principles of equality, freedom and human dignity. It is difficult to tell whether or not a girl has had intercourse and after touching about 600 girls you can easily transfer infections.”

Girls between the age of seven and 26 lie on a mat in front of the woman doing the test, which only takes a few seconds. It is often carried out with bare hands and the tester seldom washes them.

Girls who pass get white stars pasted on their foreheads and a certificate confirming their virginity.

“We have come here to celebrate and keep our culture going,” 16- year-old Brenda Mkhize told Reuters television after her test.

“It’s better to be a virgin than to have AIDS and have a baby at the age of 16...we don’t see any reason to sleep with a guy, and I think I will stay like this until I get married.”

Mkhize was one of hundreds of girls attending a virginity celebration at a sports stadium near Durban in December.

Afterwards, the girls sang and danced in traditional Zulu fashion.

“We are here because we are proud of ourselves, because we are virgins,” another girl said.

Any volunteers from Asia for this tests??????

Well physical virginity tests were also reported in India as shown in the video above dated August 3rd, 2009. That so called tests received widespread condemnations by leaders and elders.
